From Disaster to Home Again: Restoring a Home After Cyclone Alfred

Just four weeks after moving into their new home, one couple’s excitement quickly turned into devastation when Cyclone Alfred struck.
During the severe weather event, a large tree fell through the roof of their home, causing extensive damage throughout the property. The impact left the roof compromised, water entering the home, significant internal damage, and damage to the property’s shed. The scale of the destruction meant the home required a full insurance restoration.
As with many catastrophe events, time is critical.
Working closely with their insurer, the ARC Projects team was on site within just 12 hours of the claim being accepted. Our priority was to make the property safe, assess the damage, and begin guiding the homeowners through what can often be an overwhelming and emotional process.
Over the next seven months, our team managed every stage of the restoration, from emergency response and damage assessment through to reconstruction and the final finishes. With dedicated project management, claims administration support, and experienced in-house trades working alongside our trusted local trade partners, the homeowners had one team supporting them every step of the way.
